The greatest gift a father could give

Thinking about my mom's birthday coming up on February 3, she would have been 74.

My dad gave me the greatest gift a father could give his child; he loved my mother.

There is not a greater gift you can give your child than to love their other parent. Yes, even if the parents are not married.  I am lucky enough to have parents that married til death do they part.  They honored their committment to each other, and were fortunate to be best friends. That is rare, very rare.

So, to my dad, I thank him for giving me the greatest gift he could ever give me.  Thank you Daddy, I love you.  Now, honor mom by going on with your life and live it to the fullest.  That would be the biggest gift you could give her.
