A Mother's Love
The Apricot Blossom, A Mother's Love
Last night, I received an email from the brother of a dear friend I haven't seen in a long time. I made contact with him through the networking site Linked In. Little did I know, the Apel family would touch my heart again. When I first met Andy and Dave, I was 16 years old. Andy and Dave were going to New Mexico State and were from Los Alamos, New Mexico. Andy soon graduated and moved on. Dave became a very close friend to me, and I introduced him to my family. Dave and Cousin Rob became good friends and roommates. Dave gave my mother a very special print by the artist Secundino Sandoval. She loved the print and it always had a special place in her home.
Andy, Dave's brother is the one I made the connection with on Linked In. I searched for Apel and found Andy's name. Last night, we chatted a bit, back and forth through emails. In one of my emails, I mentioned that my mother passed away recently. His response to me was, the above Apricot Blossom photo along with the explanation below..........
On this photo, the reason I called it Mothers Love was this.
1. It is an apricot blossom.
2. The apricot jam is special.
3. Moms are special.
4. The drops of water dripping from the flower is like a mothers tear. You can feel their Love.

Thank you Andy, your words and photo are beautiful and again, one of the Apel's touched me.
Dave introduced me to his little brother Pete, when he came to New Mexico State from Los Alamos. I remember meeting Pete at his dorm on campus across the street from the tennis courts. Pete was a musician, just as Dave was. Pete was a special person. That wasn't the last Apel that Dave introduced me to. There was his little sister Val. I don't know where Val is, but I am hoping to soon here from Dave. Andy is passing along my contact info to him. The last time I saw Dave was around 2000, at the wedding of some college friends.

I am feeling very blessed today, to have once again come in contact with the Apel's. It's a good day and I needed the spiritual energy from Dave, even if he doesn't know it yet..........
