Weekend of April 25 - 27
Hello! Crazy week and haven't had time to even read the news lately. Thought I would write a few things in no particular order, and update as the weekend goes along.
Last night Kevin and Julie popped over for a bit. We sat in the dining room, which we rarely do because normally the laundry is piled over the dining room table. We cleaned it off to set up the new 22 inch widescreen computer monitor that I need for work. The laptop monitor is so small and my aging eyes were going batty.
Taylor had a date last night with a boy I adore. Even Tim likes him! It is hard to find kids today with manners. When he picks her up for dates, he comes to the door, walks around to the drive way and up the walk. Most kids walk through the grass. He shakes hands, looks you in the eye and is genuinely nice. He goes to a great private school, works hard and A+ athelete, serious student, follows curfew, nice to the boys, and pets Toby. I think I need to tell Taylor we don't like him, just so she will. ha ha We weren't even worried about her coming in by midnight. Gotta love that!
I had a great night sleep, which was much needed. I think I fell asleep at 10:30 and woke up at 10:30 this morning. Training class has kicked my butt, literally. We all slept great. Tim and I layed in Jack's bed with him this morning and played a little game. I would say, "who loves their Daddy, raise their hand!" We'd all raise our hands. This would go on back and forth with me substituting names like "Mommy", "Taylor" "Toby" "Granddad" "Nana" ""Papa" etc......
I heard something this morning I never thought I'd hear in a sentence. Jack crying out, "William hit my privates with the carrot!" He cried and it hurt him for quite a while. Let me clarify that the carrot was not a vegetable. The carrot was a plastic baseball bat that Babysitter Lynda gave to the boys for Easter.
Another sentence I didn't ever think of, happened this morning. Denny and Jamie live next door. Tim and I have been lucky to have great next door neighbors here and in Las Cruces. Anyway, Jamie called and this is the conversation.
Ring Ring....Ring Ring...
Carol, "Hello"
Jamie, "Hi Carol, It's Jamie" I'm just calling to let you know that I sprayed for weeds in the side yard and didn't want the boys or Toby to play there and get sick."
Carol, "Thanks for calling! I will tell Tim. Yeah, my father in law sprayed his yard recently and somehow the dog got out and he got really sick from the chemicals."
Jamie, "One more thing I want to ask you. Can my dogs poop in your backyard today?"
Carol, "HA HA HA HA, you know we're good neighbors when you can call me and ask if your dogs can poop in our yard."
Tim, overhearing from the bathroom, "AH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Jamie, "Thank you, yes, we're good neighbors. When they have to go, we'll be in your back yard and I"ll have my plastic baggy to pick it up."
Tim and the boys just went to Uncle Billy's to watch the draft. For some reason the draft seems to be bigger than normal this year. I asked Tim why, and didn't know it was a big year for the Chief's pick. Tim told me yesterday that my 'boyfriend' was leaving Kansas City. Boo Hoo! Jared Allen is going to the Colts. I'm bummed because I was going to ask him over for dinner with us. And I am not joking, I was determined to invite him over for dinner. I'm going to ask John Buck and Alex Gordon too. Just you wait, they'll be over for a barbeque one day.
Can't believe it's already 2:15 PM. No wonder I am hungry.
I was reading my blog today and watching the video of mom and dad. I was bawling like a baby. I miss her so much. I miss my daddy too. I called him afterwards. He sounds so sad. I know I live 1000 miles away so don't know the whole story, or if his memory is serving him correctly but he said, "Everybody else around here seems to have their families come see them. Nobody comes and sees me here." That broke my heart that he feels that way. Whether or not it's true, he felt it at that exact moment. He's going to Potosi a week from Monday and we'll drive over the following weekend to see him. I also want to do some business there. I want to write one BOLI case this year. BOLI is "Bank Owned Life Insurance". We have the best product out there and I want to talk to Belgrade State Bank about it.
Well, that's it for now, I made a salad. I'll write more later.
